$11 -15 Million AGC Build Kentucky Award
Adair County Primary Center
Columbia, KY

On Friday, April 11th, AGC of Kentucky presented Branscum Construction Company, Adair County Board of Education and Sherman Carter and Barnhart with the "2013 Build Kentucky Award" for their "Excellence in Building" for the Adair County Primary Center Project at the 24th Annual Associated General Contractors of Kentucky Awards and Dinner.  This Award is presented in recognition of the Commonwealth's most prestigious projects that stand out due to their excellence in construction, project management, innovative design, state-of-the-art advancements and their positive impact on the community and the environment.

Accepting the "Build Kentucky" Award on behalf of Branscum Construction for the construction of the Adair County Primary Center were Terry Loy, Senior Superintendent, and Josh Branscum.  Superintendent Alan Reed and Board Chairman Floyd Burton, Board Member Joe Payne and Principle Patty Jones accepted the award on behalf of the owner, Adair County Board of Education.  Accepting the award for Sherman Carter Barnhart Architects were Gabe Jones and Michael Smith.

Superintendent Reed said Adair County students will benefit greatly from the new facility.  He noted that the entire community had rallied around replacing two old facilities in an attempt to save money through energy efficiency and modernization while completing a very worth-while district consolidation.   Reed also commended both Branscum Construction and Sherman-Carter-Barnhart for meeting very tight construction timelines without sacrificing quality.

Branscum Construction was extremely honored to be recognized and be presented the "Build Kentucky" Award.  The Branscum Construction Team approached this project from beginning to end with their Core Values in mind; continuous customer focus, effective management, relentless drive for improvement, respect for their people, teamwork and commitment to safety. Branscum's Core Values have been the cornerstone of their success for more than 37 years. The result has been continuously exceeding the needs and expectations of their clients while delivering a quality "Landmark Project" that the community and future generations will all be proud of.
