Larry Lambdin, Whitley County Board Member Chairman addressed the crowd who were on hand to help celebrate the official start of construction for the new Pleasant View Elementary School.  Chair Lambdin spoke about how the new school will aid students with the educational opportunity to achieve their life dreams to become doctors, lawyers, teachers or even a principal.

The new Pleasant View Elementary School will be finished and ready for students the start of the school year in August 2015.  The new school will be constructed directly behind the current school building that was originally constructed in 1938.  Once the new Pleasant View Elementary is completed the old school will be demolished.  Throughout the duration of the construction special steps will be in place to protect the students and the community.
