The Russell County Public Library Board hired Branscum Construction to be the Construction Manager for the new Russell County Public Library in Jamestown, Kentucky. The new library will consist of a 14,955 square foot building.

Construction for the Russell County Public Library was officially kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony on May 23rd, 2018. The library, like most construction projects that began in 2018, has weathered the wettest year on record. Site work has proved to be the biggest challenge to date.

The design of the new Russell County Public Library is uniquely designed with the goals of increasing visits and improving the sense of belonging for every age and interest throughout the entire county. The library will offer easy-access parking, a drive-up book drop, and a one-story floor plan that is open and accessible for all. The library will offer more public computers, more evening and weekend operational hours, and three distinct public meeting rooms, available for county residents to use.

Branscum Construction and W. Rogers joined their construction talents to form Branscum - W. Rogers and was awarded, the $33.0 million New Boyle County Middle School. The new school marked the beginning of the district’s first building project since 1977.

The two-story, 122,000 square-foot middle school will feature open and flexible instructional spaces for 900 students; a collaborative learning media center; a 500-seat cultural and performing arts theater; a 900-seat gymnasium; a state-of-the-art kitchen and a robust network infrastructure to support technology in the classroom. The new middle school is being built along Cunningham Drive in Danville, Kentucky. The architectural firm of Clotfelter-Samokar led the design process. The first phase is scheduled to be completed December 2019.

"Our vision is to create spaces for future learning, designed around collaborative and personalized learning," said Superintendent Mike LaFavers. "We are a student-centered school district and this middle school will give us flexible spaces to leverage new instructional strategies, like team-teaching and inquiry-based learning, that engage kids right where they are."

The new Lake Cumberland Regional College and Workforce Center will offer opportunities to receive college academic and technical degrees for all sectors of the population. The center is being constructed on the grounds of the Russell County High School but will be a resource for the entire region, (Russell, Adair & Casey Counties). Branscum Construction has been hired by the Russell County Board of Education as the Construction Manager for the new Lake Cumberland Regional College and Workforce Center.

The Lake Cumberland Regional College & Workforce Center is not just a high school vocational education facility. It is a College and Workforce Center that was visualized by a wide array of community partners with varied perspectives, needs and ideas in which this project was conceived. The new technology center will provide training in five areas; Advanced Manufacturing, Healthcare, IT Services, Construction Trades, and Automotive Technology and will serve over 2,000 high school students from the region. Additionally, over 600 adults will have access to the programs in the evenings.

The new LCRCWC is a partnership of Lindsey Wilson College, the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, Eastern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University to provide Associate to Bachelor programs. Students work toward an Associate Degree in high school and enroll in an institution of higher learning to complete a four-year degree. Certification programs will be offered as well.

Branscum Construction started work on a design-build renovation and addition for Outdoor Ventures for the new Fibrotex USA facility in (McCreary County) Stearns, KY in early fall of 2018 with construction beginning in late 2018.

The new state-of-the-art facility is being established next to Outdoor Venture Corporation, which is a strategic partner to Fibrotex USA. ODV currently designs and manufactures modular personnel and command post tents for the Army. Fibrotex USA has been awarded a contract with the US Army to manufacture the Ultra-Light Camouflage Netting System (ULCANS). ULCANS will be an all-weather, state-of-the-art signature concealment system that provides multi-spectral protection for troops and equipment.

The new facility will consist of a 28,000 square foot renovation of an existing building with a 53,250 square foot pre-engineered metal building expansion. This will give Fibrotex a total of 81,250 square foot manufacturing and office facility.

Branscum Construction was selected to build the new Toyota of Ashland for Mike Ayers and Clay Green of Ashland Associates. This is the second project for Branscum Construction with the Green family. The first was Infinity of Lexington which was completed in 2016.

The new 25,873 square foot dealership will consist of a showroom, business/sales area, service area, service receiving area, second-floor break room & conference area. The second floor has 4,834 square feet that includes the business area and parts room area. The project is progressing and excepted to be completed in late spring 2019.

On Tuesday, January 23, 2018, Boyle County Board of Education, staff, students and community leaders gathered along Cunningham Drive to break ceremonial ground on the new Boyle County Middle School.  The occasion marked the beginning of the district's first building project since 1977.

Jennifer Newby, Chairperson of the Board of Education, expressed her gratitude to attendees noting, "A strong school district is built on community partners who are actively engaged in providing transformative opportunities for our students."  Newby continued, "With your ongoing support, Boyle County Schools will continue to foster a culture of excellence that maximizes every child's potential."

Branscum-W. Rogers was selected by the Boyle County Board of Education on December 8th, 2017 to build a new middle school. This landmark project contains 134,000 square feet and includes a state of the art auditorium. Construction will start immediately and is expected to be completed in the fall of 2019.

Superintendent Mike LaFavers was quoted as saying "They were the low bidder and they've got a strong reputation."

Branscum-W. Rogers is excited about this opportunity and looks forward to providing a one of a kind project for the children and staff of the new Boyle County Middle School.
