Branscum Construction Company, Inc. was founded in 1977 by Paul and Stephen Branscum. Under the direction of Stephen and Josh Branscum, this third generation, family-owned business has confirmed its status as a construction industry leader in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Stephen P. Branscum
Founder / CEO
Steve’s career started early by traveling with his father, the late Paul Branscum to numerous construction sites and commercial developments doing site excavation. In 1977, Steve became Vice President/Treasurer of Branscum Construction Company, starting the Building Division and becoming a Kentucky corporation. In 1983, he became sole owner, president, and chief executive officer of the corporation.

Since its incorporation 45 plus years ago, the company began concentrating on commercial, industrial and institutional building projects. Branscum Construction now manages between 20 to 40 major construction projects under various stages of design and construction on an annual basis.
With Steve’s leadership and progressive business style, Steve has built the company into one of the larger General Contracting, Construction Management and Design/Build companies within the state. Branscum Construction has also entered other market areas with the company contracting construction projects throughout the Mideast and Southeast regions of the United States.
Steve is also involved in other business ventures and projects throughout Kentucky and the Southeast, including Precision Erection & Rigging Company. He serves on the volunteer board of several major universities and economic development organizations.
Josh Branscum
President
Josh Branscum has grown up in the company watching his father Stephen Branscum start and nurture the family construction business. Branscum began his career with Branscum Construction Company on the Russell Springs Elementary School project as a laborer, working and learning under the direction of Branscum’s Senior Superintendents.

Josh continued working in the field while he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication at Georgetown College (’05) and Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management at Eastern Kentucky University (’07).
After graduation, Branscum joined Branscum Construction’s MED (Marketing, Estimating & Design) Department and oversaw all areas of Project Development. He was later promoted into the role of Business Development Director and managed business relations and project acquisitions.
As President, Branscum will continue to be involved in pre-construction services; however, he will now have a greater role in the overall management of the company. “I am honored and grateful for this opportunity,” said Branscum. “I’m very energized about the team we have put together at Branscum Construction. We have a perfect mix of veterans and those who are younger in the industry. This has made for a great environment for learning, sharing of ideas and outside the box thinking. We have always provided our clients with value, diversity and strength.”
Jonathan Smith
Vice President of Operations
Jonathan Smith joined the Branscum Construction team in 1993, where he started out in the field as a laborer on the Sherwin Williams industrial expansion in Richmond, Kentucky. Smith completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in Math at Lindsey Wilson. He attended the Construction Estimating Institute before joining Branscum Construction’s estimating department.

Jonathan has spent the last 17 years estimating and working closely with project managers, clients, and subcontractors. Smith has vast experience with multiple delivery methods on various projects. As Vice President of Operations, Smith is in charge of the day-to-day field operations for Branscum Construction Company.
Dale Meece
Vice President of Operations, Precision Erection Company
Dale Meece started his career with Precision Erection Company, Inc. more than 35 years ago as an on-site foreman. He has been promoted over the years to Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Estimator and to his current position as Vice President of Operations.

Dale is a certified welder, equipment operator, heavy rigging and a crane operator. He is a Certified and Licensed Airframe and Power Plant Technician through the Kentucky Vocational Technical School, and is a Kentucky Ready Mix Concrete Association Certified Concrete Technician.
Dale’s project experience includes work on projects for FedEx, Walmart, Humana, East Kentucky Power, Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Rite Aid Pharmacy and many others.
