Whitley County Board of Education received an award from EnergyStar on their energy efficiency at the new Pleasant View Elementary. The new state-of-the-art school had a one year savings of over $25,000 in energy costs, which is a 55 percent drop in cost below the older smaller elementary school. This building consists of 10 new classrooms, a large multi-purpose room, an auditorium that seats 750, and a natatorium with a competition size swimming pool. The project was brought in under budget and on schedule. Branscum Construction was hired as the Construction Manager.
